Cycling Chiang Mai to Bangkok

Really enjoyable trip made better by the superb organization both before & during the Ride. The pre-departure help given by Gems in the office was wonderful. On and Off the Bike, the SpiceRoads Team of Bird, Nick, Mr. Rin & Mr. Wat provided great service and attended to our every need. Thanks to you all!

This was our first guided cycling tour. I can only highly recommend Spice Roads, great company, from Gems at the office replying to all my multiple requests and Bird and Nikky who turned out to be excellent guides. We felt safe and well cared for, for the entire experience. I would love to go back to Thailand and would certainly do it with Spice Roads.

This was a fantastic road bike trip, ideally for serious road bike riders, rather than the touring enthusiast. The organization, accommodation, food and quality of the guides was extremely high and a credit to Spice Roads. When a serious problem arose due to an accident, the level of support provided by the Guides was outstanding. I will forever be in their debt.

Overall, the quality of the roads are very good with smooth pavement, usually a nice clean shoulder lane to ride on that is shared with motor-bikes and drivers that are courteous and give you plenty of room. The support team go out of their way to assist, keeping water bottles full and finding local snacks such as sticky rice wrapped in banana leaves to keep up your energy.

Chang Mai to Bangkok - absolutely fantastic experience and the best way to see Thailand on two wheels! Our guide Ant and support driver Wat catered for our every need by going over and above our expectations. We ate like kings and never went without, I am already planning my next spice roads adventure and will be recommending to all my regular cycling buddies. Wat was great, we felt like we were in very safe hands, he proved to be a innovative bike mechanic and was always good for a laugh and a joke.

An amazing journey. The entire group had so much fun. Our guides Ant and Arm helped us the whole way and we would have been lost without our support crew of Rin and Moo. We always had food and ice cold drinks and they ensured we were looked after every minute of the way.

I had an excellent time experiencing the wonderful and diverse nature of the country and people. The range of places that we went to was excellent and well balanced.

As there was just the two of us on the trip we were able to easily modify the tour to suit our requirements, with the assistance of our excellent guide, Woody Watthana.

Apart from the temples and the places of general tourist interest, what was especially interesting were the places that we went to that were off the beaten track, in the smaller villages and towns. Woody seemed to know just the right places to stop, varying from rice processor, teak production factory, china factory, to a couple of specialist back street knife manufacturers that had been supported by the government to produce exclusive knives for the US market. All very interesting.

All in all, I think that the tour was great fun (a little hot in the afternoon maybe) and a true experience which was enhanced by Woody and his knowledge. I will recommend this trip and the guides to my friends.

Being my second Spice Roads tour I enjoyed every minute of it. And I am already trying to plan for my next Spice Roads tour.

Mr Aum and Mr Rin definitely made the tour more enjoyable as I feel without them it would not have been the same. Both are very professional and provided a great easy friendly service to myself and the other riders. I will hope to have them guide me on my next tour.
