  • Where does the tour start and end?

The tour starts by meeting with the the group at Goldi Sands Hotel in Negombo. For folks flying in, it can be accessed through Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB).

After a 3 hour transfer from Galle, the tour will end at Colombo. The tour operator can drop you off either at the Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) or preferred hotel.

  • How many riders will be in the group? And what is the minimum age to join?

We can't say for certain how many will be joining. However to keep the tour personal the maximum number of participants is 16 and minimum is 2.

Minimum age to join is 18 years old.

  • How many days is the tour?

You have 12 days and 11 nights of fun on this tour. 9 of which will be spent on the bike.

  • Can you describe the tour?

The bicycle journey will be on quiet back roads, estate tracks, and gravel paths. You will cover 575 km (357 mi) in 9 cycling days, and much, if not most, of the terrain is undulating, and there are three days with more than 70 km (43 mi) of riding. When you combine the great variety of cycling with the cultural and natural attractions, there is plenty to delve into and enjoy.

Suitability: This ride is for those who have some biking experience, as well as experts. The beginning of this ride is relatively flat, but there will be hills as you head inland, and there are some long distances to cover. Never underestimate the heat and humidity of tropical Sri Lanka, as it will likely ensure things feel hot. This is a true journey through the finest terrain and scenery of Sri Lanka, with the best culture, nature, and wildlife along the way, ensuring you get the very best of everything from your cycling efforts.

Biking Conditions: The road surfaces are mixed: most days you'll ride on reasonably good quality asphalt roads, but there are enough sections on very badly broken or dirt tracks that you will need a mountain bike, preferably one with front shocks. However, there is nothing technical involved on this tour, and anyone, assuming they have a reasonable level of fitness, will be able to join. A support truck is always available to help.

  • Are helmets included when hiring a bike?

Yes, if you're hiring a bike from the operator, a complimentary helmet is provided, although you are welcome to bring your own if you wish.

Excellent tour and accommodations
Fraser Moodie — March 2017
(Review obtained from Tour Operator)

Overall I, and the small group thought it was excellent. Only 3 of us on the tour, good guide, new bikes and really interesting routes and tourist site visits. The standout was the accommodation (and the food) - so often accommodation is cheap on these tours as the operators try to make their margins but as a group we felt the accommodation always exceeded our expectations, they were either in amazing locations, had lots of character but were always of high quality. One of the participants had been on two other tours by the operator and he rated this the best but rated them highly for the other tours he'd been on as well.

Great way to discover Sri Lanka

(Review obtained from Tour Operator)

Fantastic trip, the organisation could not have been better and the guide could not have done more to make a memorable holiday. Kasun did everything he could to make the tour go smoothly, he always jumped on any problems or concerns and dealt with them straight away. VJ was always very attentive to our needs and our safety. This is a great way to discover a country and explore areas that you would not normally go to. The team were enthusiastic and helpful from the start of the holiday to the end.

Passed our expectations

Perfectly matched our hopes and expectations; balance of cycling and sightseeing, great support. A great way to experience Sri Lanka for the first time. Kasun is totally committed to providing clients with the best possible experience.
