Starting in Chiang Rai, you'll head further north, close to the Myanmar border, before heading east to meet the Mekong River and the border of Laos. With endless mountain views, and fertile lands all around producing abundant produce such as strawberries, lychee, rice and corn, you'll be amazed and enthralled at the variety, wholesomeness and exquisite taste of the food provided throughout the tour.
Aside from the food, the tour delivers an awesome road biking experience, on fantastically smooth surfaces covering rugged and rural landscapes with epic viewpoints along the way. Most days include some fairly challenging climbs although there will be an easy and slow start to the riding and plenty of support available, in terms of vehicle support and knowledgeable guides to inform and encourage you at every step.
Other highlights of the trip include visiting the artistic white temple of Wat Rong Khun, the Chiang Rai night bazaar, and relaxing at the Phu Sang Waterfall, where the water is fed from a hot spring. This 10-day journey around the top of Thailand very much delivers a great road cycling experience with a cultural journey of discovery, getting you off the beaten track and exploring parts of the country best seen by bike.
