McLaren Vale Mountain Biking and Wine Day

What an awesome day (and that was pre-wine tasting)!!! Despite the drizzling rain and a few years since we last rode, Lee ensured we were comfortable with our bike skills before heading off on our scenic descent into Mclaren Vale. We appreciated the friendly and educational experience at each of the wineries (Gemtree, Kangarilla & Samuel’s Gorge) and the amazing views. Do yourself a favour and book this tour! We will be back! I went with a group of 5 of us and we had such an enjoyable day. Ian is a lovely genuine guy that accommodated for our every need. He was very knowledgeable about the local area. At every winery we felt like we had so much time, it was very relaxing. All in all it was a great day, I would highly recommend this tour. Thanks Ian!

This was lucky day, both Ian and Deb were our guides today. They were wonderful to travel with, we first stopped in a beautiful camp ground with fun gravel trails. We saw a Koala bear resting in a tree there. Then we entered a National Park with some rolling trails, however, no Kangaroos to be seen at the time. The long down hill roll to the first vineyard was a total scream!
Lunch was the perfect selection of meats, cheeses and veggies. Then off we went to another vineyard for a delicious tasting, we met Dave the wine dog who was a character! As if that was not enough, we stopped at a micro brewery for a quick beer and then on to a cafe, goodness knows, we all needed coffee at that point!
I highly recommend this bike adventure. We had a blast and saw many beautiful sights!

This was a fantastic way to spend the day. The bikes are great and the park ride was so cool - views were spectacular. I particularly enjoyed the downhill ride from the top of the road. The 2 vineyards we visited were really nice and it was nice finishing off with a well earned beer at the microbrewery. I was the slow poke on the trip but Ian and the rest of the group were great and hopefully I didn't hold things up too much! Would love to do this again actually!!

My husband and I were in Adelaide for the fringe and wanted to spend a day doing a wine tour but also get some exercise given the weather was so lovely. This was the perfect day out - a bit of exercise (not too strenuous) with lots of wine and a visit to a microbrewery (I’m not the biggest fan of beer but this was great) and we even saw a koala. Couldn’t recommend more!

Had such a great day on the wine and cycle tour! Ian was an awesome guide for cycling and wine - a great alternative way to enjoy the wines in the Adelaide region if you’re active or not active!!! Thanks Ian for a great day and for dropping us straight back to the airport!

Prior to visiting the wineries, our friendly and knowledgeable guide Ian took my husband and I on a terrific outing to Onkaparinga National Park for a bike ride to see the stunning Onkaparinga Gorge. Paths and a viewing platform were recently installed in the park, it was a treat to be taken to this area we would not have known about otherwise. A short drive onward to McLaren Vale where we jumped on our bikes and rode around the area to visit Gemtree and Kangarilla Road wineries and Goodieson microbrewery. Without giving too much away, each stop has its own highlights, whether it's sampling amazing wine, food or meeting friendly owners, staff and pets! This tour absolutely was the highlight of our week long stay in Adelaide/SA and highly recommended. Thank you Ian for a wonderful day!

I had such a great day with Lee and our small group! Fabulous weather and lovely people! We went to 2 fantastic Wineries and a Brewery. Beautiful scenery for the brief bike trails we went on. Would highly recommend this tour as a way to see Maclaren Vale and get some activity in! Delicious platter lunch at the Winery too....

I cannot put in to words how awesome the mountain bike wine tour was through McLaren Vale. Ian was an amazing guide and was so supportive and accommodating to our groups requirements. I am a complete beginner in fitness levels and we had some beginners on bikes too, and this tour was fantastic for all of us. Thank you Ian, it is a tour I will most certainly remember.

We are Adelaide locals who were given this trip as a retirement gift. The day was fantastic. Only us (2) and one other in the group who was visiting from Stockholm. Lee was a great guide. He contributed to the conversation and shared some knowledge of the Adelaide Hills and the southern wine region.
Lunch was delicious. The option to choose where to go after the two wineries was appreciated - we visited the brewery and followed up with Espresso Martini’s at the chocolate shop ! Bonus having the wine purchases collected for us and being picked up without having to ride back up the hill. It felt like a day out with friends, thank you.
