We set off from our hotel, and after the first 20 kilometers, the landscape transforms into a stunning mix of towering mountains and sprawling rice paddies across the valley. Get ready for a challenging climb as we ride to Vung Ro Bay and ascend the steep Ca Pass. The effort is rewarded with breathtaking jungle and bay views, with a stop at Vung Ro Bay for photos before tackling the final 3 kilometers and reaching the top of Ca Pass (with a 10% grade).
Next, we make our way to Dai Lanh Beach, where you can refresh and enjoy a swim—bike shorts and all—before transferring to Dam Mon. Depending on traffic and road conditions, there may be the option to bike to Dam Mon. The scenery here is unlike anything else we’ve seen on the tour, resembling a moonscape of rugged beauty.
At Dam Mon, we swap bikes for boats and head to Whale Island, where you’ll enjoy some well-earned rest and relaxation. The boat ride takes about 10 minutes, and we’ll stay at the peaceful Whale Island Resort for two nights.- 36 miles
