The legendary Ho Chi Minh trail, once a small track used by locals, expanded during the war to a vast network of paths and roads through jungles and along the Truong Son Mountains, running roughly parallel with the border of Laos. These labyrinthine trails, that ran for 2,000 km (1,240 mi), were used to transport troops, foodstuff, weapons, and other essentials during the war.
Today, the trail intertwines with the newly built Ho Chi Minh Highway, crossing the highway at many points along it. The highway was built in 2000 and provides a fantastic surface for road biking in a very peaceful and stunningly beautiful setting. During the tour, you will experience varied landscapes, from mountains and valleys to villages and coastal stretches. Your senses will also be overloaded as you explore caves, ride through jungles, discover the DMZ and Khe Sanh, and marvel at the charm of the UNESCO city of Hue.
This journey through Vietnam radiates with melancholic beauty and cultural highlights and is one not to be missed.
