I had a fabulous time down in Mudgee over the weekend. Sampled lots of terrific wines and had memorable food. I highly recommend the tour to anyone who enjoys casual cycling, fresh air and pleasant landscape whilst trying out all the goodies Mudgee has to offer.

Our Mudgee weekend was really fun and we came home with some top wines from the wineries! The Mudgee region is lovely, the people are really friendly and helpful, the roads are very bicycle-friendly and picturesque, the voyeuristic sheep are hysterical. In terms of improvements, just a few little things that could possibly be looked at – the map provided was kind of "loose" in terms of how much it represented the actual road layout (but the locals were happy to clear it up!) We stopped at a gorgeous restaurant for our pre-booked gourmet meal, to find the restaurant staff had no knowledge of our prepaid lunch platter. They did have a table reserved for us though, so they just decided we could pick whatever we wanted from the menu instead of the "lunch platter" noted on our itinerary (no problems there, lunch was delicious!) Lastly, as lovely as the Cobb'n'Co was, and conveniently located, it's kind of noisy through the night with the pub-goers exiting downstairs! Overall, a wonderful time was had on the tour, my partner and I really enjoyed it. One thing that did occur to us regarding purchasing wines from the individual wineries: maybe you should strike up a deal where Tour de Vines cyclists can buy wines and they'll be delivered back to the hotel at the end of the day for a small extra fee?
I recently did a weekend trip with Tour de Vines in Mudgee. It was a fabulous way to experience the region, enjoy some fantastic food and wine, and share many laughs along the way with a terrific bunch of people ... I look forward to the next tour!
