This recently completed cycling and walking path is a fantastic feat of development by the local councils and volunteers. Cycling the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail (BVRT) is a little bit of an adventure. However, it’s on the easy side in terms of difficulty, the distances are achievable for most riders, and you'll start the tour at the northern end so it’s largely downhill.  Although small sections are paved, the majority of the trail is either hard packed gravel or dirt track so the tour operator recommends well-equipped mountain bikes (you can BYO or rent a bike).

It wouldn't be Queensland without some great pubs and iconic outback buildings to visit. Enjoy the downhill cycling from Yarraman on the safe, fun Brisbane Valley Rail Trail and experience the charming outback towns of Esk, Yarraman & Fernvale. Do some wildlife spotting, keeping your eye out for koalas, emu and perhaps an echidna or two. Revisit the past at the charming old restored train stations along the way and savor the friendly Queensland regional hospitality.

This is a self-guided tour, and the tour operator will look after you from start to finish. Accommodation, support, itinerary and maps, some delicious meals and transport are all included. Enjoy the freedom of riding one of Australia’s best rail trails. It all makes for a wonderful getaway on this Brisbane Valley Rail Trail cycling tour.

* Accommodation can book out for peak holiday and long weekend dates so it’s wise to book any preferred dates early. Supplement may apply for public holidays. Please note that the tour price given is the ‘from’ price – rates may vary depending on the dates chosen.
