Marvelous week of riding around the three lakes

Stephen Ryan
(Review obtained from Other)

Mary and I arrived in Milano not sure whether we would enjoy our week riding with Roadbike Tours Italy, but there was no need to worry. Luca and Michela were perfect riding hosts and ensure we had a marvelous week of riding around the three Lakes.

They asked us how we liked to ride and used that information to tailor their tour to our needs and abilities and from there we had seven wonderful days of riding! Great rides and panoramic routes from a Luca, excellent accommodation, wonderful food and drink, brilliant van support from Michela and most importantly two new friends. We got it all from Luca and Michela and are really looking forward to joining them again for one of their other tours.

Pros & Cons
  • Great rides and panoramic routes
  • Excellent accommodation

Best guided cycle tour we’ve done

My partner and I have been riding for about ten years and have done several guided tours throughout Europe and the USA. We joined Luca and Michele from Road Bike Tours for the Three Lakes and More tour and it was the best guided tour we have ever done. They provided excellent road bikes, and from meeting them at Milano station till being dropped off there a week later we thoroughly enjoyed the riding, the hotels, the food, and most importantly the company. We were lucky enough to be the only guests on our tour and the result was a tour that was tailored to suit all our needs. We enjoyed it so much we are booked to do the Fantastic Journey in 2018.

When I booked this tour I could see from the pictures on line that it was going to be pretty outstanding but actually cycling around the three lakes was one of the most amazing things I have ever done! The long hills were a bit of a challenge for me and my husband as we hadn’t ever cycled long ascents before but we really enjoyed doing them and would love to do it again!

The tour guides Luca and Richi were brilliant. Luca was our guide, on the bikes with us and Richi drove the minibus, following us with our luggage and technical items for the bikes. He also stopped frequently to take photos of us and of the lovely views, which he then sent to us via whatsapp at the end of the day. Joining me and my husband on the tour was Lucianno from Brazil, who had never rode a road bike before, but he did so well up the long ascents and after only 3 days he was using clipless pedals! Luca and Richi were so helpful – they even helped him to buy his own road bike, which was ready for him when he arrived.

Their knowledge of the area was great as they actually live near lake Iseo, we enjoyed listening to not only the tour information during the day but also to their stories of their home on an evening. Luca is also a member of a mountain rescue team and it was really interesting to hear about that as well as hearing about both Luca and Richi's cycling experiences.

The hotels and the restaurants were wonderful and you could really tell that Luca had taken the time and effort to find us special places to make this not just a cycling trip but a really special holiday. We really had such a great time that we will be joining Luca and Richi (and hopefully Lucianno) next year on another tour – we can’t wait!
Just keep doing what you’re doing Luca and Richi!

My daughter and I were fortunate to have found Road Bike Tours Italy while searching for the perfect bike tour company that could accommodate our needs and desires. Luca and Michela were our fabulous guides during our tour of the Great Alps and we couldn't have been happier! Each day was an epic ride, punctuated by grueling climbs, amazing vistas and dizzying descents (yes, this are the epic passes made famous by the Giro d'Italia) and then rewarded by a nice hot shower in beautiful accommodations and delicious food and wine in our In addition to having incredible knowledge of the region and its cultural heritage, where They possess an incredible zest for life and adventure.
