  1. Day 1Arrival

Today is an arrival day. You are free to arrive at any time. Upon arrival in Antananarivo you will be greeted and transferred to the hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure. Tana has an enchanting collection of colorful houses that  are often positioned crookedly on the slopes creating a stunning effect. Uneven roofs, weathered brick walls and disruptive wooden stalls daringly push in and over each other, as if to prevent each other from slipping.

Halfway, near Arivonimamo, you'll see the former international airport, which today serves as a military base.

After you have mastered the last mountains you'll cycle a few kilometers downhill. Miarinarivo is located west of the capital Antananarivo in the central highlands, on the edge of a former volcanic area with fertile basalt soils. The area here, the Itasy region, is one of Madagascar’s most attractive landscapes. The island’s third largest lake, the picturesque Lac Itasy, is named after the region. With its volcanic origin, it offers many destinations, a variety of lakes and crater lakes, waterfalls and geysers.
