Accommodation ranges from family-run motels and hotels  (3-4 star) to locally run lodge accommodation which are rich in character, clean and comfortable and run by hosts that help add to your experience. Most rooms are en suite however the heritage nature of these buildings, on occasion, means you may have to share a bathroom. Additionally two nights of the tour will be spent in a remote backcountry hut where you can experience the real New Zealand as you spend the night in spectacular scenery. The huts are fitted with bunk beds, kitchen, toilets (mostly outdoor) and communal area. You will be sharing rooms and facilities on these nights.

If you are travelling alone, the tour operator will arrange for you to share accommodation with another traveller of the same gender and if they cannot match you up they will provide a single room at no extra charge. If you prefer not to share, a single supplement is payable to guarantee your own room, however, these are limited to 2 per departure on a first-come, first-served basis.
