Itinerary Details

  1. Day 1Travel to Hawke's Bay

Make your way to the base in Ahuriri, Napier. You may drive directly or if flying in, a complimentary shuttle is available to pick you up from the Hawke's Bay Airport.

You can also use this day to explore Napier on your own. The city is especially known for it's Art Deco architecture and design which has been preserved since the 1930s. If you arrive before 10:00AM you can start your cycling on this day.

    • Crown Hotel, Napier
  2. Day 2Easy pathways to Cape Kidnappers

Start the day on the right foot with breakfast. You may opt to have breakfast at Ahuriri Village Kitchen using the included voucher in your tour. Enjoy the relaxed environment of the restaurant with seaside views and fantastic food. You will be met with your bikes mid morning along with the detailed guide maps and instructions, after which you can be on your merry way to start exploring.

Cycle south along coastal pathways and hectares of vineyards. Take your time as you visit one or all of the wineries in the area with each having their own character. Wine lovers would enjoy the tastings at Elephant Hill, Te Awanga Estate Vineyard, and Clearview Estate Winery. Lunch (cost to be paid directly to the winery) will be at the gorgeous Clearview Estate Winery as well.

After a day of pleasant riding, sumptuous food, sightseeing and wine tastings, it's time to head back for Napier with a shuttle van picking you up after lunch.

  3. Day 3Pathways around Ahuriri Estuary Trail and departure

You will be met mid-morning and taken to Puketapu for the start of your ride. If yesterday you cycled south, today you will be heading north towards Bayview. You’ll get your fill again of vineyard views but this time there’s the added excitement of seeing local wildlife and migratory birds as you ride along the Ahuriri Estuary from Taradale. This part of the region is protected in order to conserve its ecosystem which serves as habitat for many endangered species.

Cycle for half a day before getting some lunch at Church Road Winery or Mission Estate Winery (cost to be paid direct to winery). After lunch, a van will pick you up once again and transfer you back to Napier so you can get on the road or plane for your onward travels.
