From Cambodia's capital of Phnom Penh you'll ride to the Gulf of Thailand and the former resort town of Kep, then cycle along the coastline through quaint fishing villages. After a day at the beach you'll head north to the Cardamom mountains and overnight at a Community Based Eco-Tourism (CBET) project that is offering locals an alternative living to logging and hunting. Here you'll ride on single track trails before cycling further north to an eco-lodge that boasts the nearby Tatai waterfall. Next you'll leave Cambodia and ride into Thailand; you'll be on the coastline of the Kingdom's narrowest strip. The tour draws to an end at the sandy beaches of Koh Chang island.

Fly into Phnom Penh International Airport (PNH), fly out of Suvarnnabhumi Airport (BKK).

  • How long is the tour? How many days cycling?

The tour is 9 days long with 8 days of cycling.

  • What's the trip like?

You will ride 460 km on a mixture of tarmac roads in reasonable repair, vehicle width dirt trails, and some single track. Most of the rides are on flat terrain, with a few rolling hills towards the end of the tour, and on quiet back roads. The tour operator tries to avoid the highways where possible.

Suitability: This trip has been designed to be easy with flat riding, but there are variations in the surfaces. This trip can be done by anyone of a reasonable fitness level. A support truck is always available to help when required, with the exception of Day 4.

Biking Conditions: The roads are a mixture of tarmac, broken tarmac, vehicle-width dirt roads, and single track trails. The distances aren't overly long and can be handled by those with basic fitness levels. Some off-road experience is suggested to enjoy the day riding in Chi Phat.

Another satisfying experience

My fourth multi-day trip with the tour operator. Another exciting adventure through Cambodia. Great guides & drivers, great food & on road support. Varied and interesting accommodation. Sihonoukville beaches and single track jungle trails to waterfalls a highlight of a terrific trip. Mr Wang(guide) and Mr Com (driver) were excellent.

Great crew

I first realized how well the tour operator was looking after us, when I had a flat tire on a remote road in very hot weather. It was soooo hot and while I was drinking an ice cold energy drink, the support crew pulled off the back wheel, swapped over the tube, refitted the wheel, pumped it up and handed the bike back to me with a smile. What could have been hot and sweaty for me was a refreshing break instead. Great work!

Challenging and enjoyable

Wilds of Cambodia cycle tour was a great tour of a part of this wonderful country. The cycling was challenging at times but always enjoyable and well supported. The tour guide and his team were friendly, helpful and knowledge, and courteous at all times. "Tree" was a very good tour leader. He clearly enjoyed his job and was always keen to ensure that we were as fully informed as possible about all aspects.
