  • Where does this tour start and end?

This tour starts and ends in Christchurch.

Fly in/out of Christchurch International Airport (CHC).

  • I’m traveling alone, can I join this trip?

Definitely. Many of the guests are solo travelers so absolutely jump on board.

  • Can you help me out for extra days before and after the tour?

Absolutely! The operator can sort you out with accommodation both before and after your tour.

  • What ages is this tour for?

The tour has guests in their late teens to their mid 60s, but the average age is between 25–45. More important than age is attitude – the tour operator has found over the years that if you have a thirst for adventure then age is no barrier.

Please do keep in mind though that a reasonable level of fitness is required.

The minimum age of joining a tour is 18 years old. Sometimes the group may head out to a bar where everyone needs to be 18 years old, and New Zealand has strict alcohol policies.

  • What are the best activities to get my adrenalin fix?

Here's a sample of the tour operator's favorite activities to get your blood pumping.

Canyon Swinging in Queenstown (try the 'Chair of Death')
        Extreme Jet Boating in Queenstown
The Nevis Bungy in Queenstown - with as drop of 134 metres
Skydiving over the 'Remarkables' - throw yourself out of a perfectly good plane!

Please be aware that your guide will fit your activities in the best way possible depending on what activities are selected – so they may take place on different days or times than those listed on this itinerary.

  • How fit do I need to be?

If you plan on doing lots of activities, you need to be reasonably fit. There is also plenty of time to relax, recharge and soak up the surroundings as you chill out.

  • How much should I budget per day for food and what food Is included?

Your guide will supply a continental breakfast each morning of your tour. This will consist of cereal, toast, tea, coffee and juice. And they take any special requests also.

Lunches and dinners are at your own expense. The guides know the best places in each town and city depending on your budget and what you are after, and they will point these out on the way into each location.

Some nights the tour group may choose to cook a meal together. You will head to a supermarket to get everything and then cook as a group at the hostel.

Whoever joins in splits the cost, and it usually works out to be about $10 NZD per person. A fun, social and cheap dinner.

Likewise, the tour group and guide often head out to a local pub for a beer and a meal. Meals can range from $15 upwards. In summer it’s not uncommon to have a BBQ washed down with a few drinks.

  • Do you cater for vegetarians/vegans?

Yes – the tour often has vegetarian/vegan guests and all cafes and restaurants in New Zealand offer these options. If you can’t see any on the menu just ask, as most places will happily prepare something for you.

  • Can I upgrade my accommodation?

If you would prefer to have your own room while on tour, it is a good idea to upgrade. Most private rooms will have an ensuite bathroom attached; however, in some locations you will have a private room with shared bathroom facilities due to the hostel layout.

  • Will I have the time of my life?

    Ohhh yes you will!

It was an amazing tour, we managed to see the most beautiful places in a very short time period! Our tour guide also gave us lots of background information.Plus, they tirelessly tried to arrange for all possible activities that we wanted to take, so that everybody could get around to doing everything they wanted, even when it was difficult at times due to weather etc. At the same time those who did not want to do as much (or simply different things) did not feel pressured into anything. Great planning, great management on the road, highly recommended!
