Northern Italy: Great Alps Bike Tour

Luca and his staff are wonderful tour guides and I had an amazing time with them! They led a truly splendid bike trip for me through the Alps on roads I wouldn't have found on my own. The views were stupendous! Luca set up the bike for me beforehand and fitted it to me perfectly so that I was comfortable the whole time. Along the way, he would stop and teach me about specific towns and their history and point out unique features of the landscape, for example the names of mountains. The food and lodging organised were also exquisite and I got to taste typical foods from the area we were riding through, for example the pizzoccheri della Valtellina which are so delicious. Everything was organised splendidly and I would highly recommend going on a tour with them!

My mum and I are avid cyclists and wanted to do a Europe bike trip for my college graduation celebration. We found Luca and Michela online and they were very responsive and friendly, helping us plan arrival, bike fitting and rental, hotels etc. They were extremely accommodating, picking us up in their support van with all our luggage in a city 2 hours away from Bormio, where we were to stay for the bike trip. We immediately hit it off! Luca and Michela are the sweetest couple and most fun, responsible bike guides and tour guides. Luca, a pro bike racer and ski rescuer and mountaineer, is extremely fit for the job and can accommodate cyclists of any level- my mum and I are fit and advanced and he was keen to show us some of the most formidable, but beautiful routes of the Giro d'Italia! Michela is incredible in the support van, an expert driver manoeuvreing through very narrow roads and stopping ahead to take amazing photos of us! Both are very organised and prepared to improvise according to weather. We felt very safe with them. In addition, they are AMAZING tour guides! They knew everything historically and culturally about the region in the alps, and took us on beautiful outings in the van to special monuments and towns. They are also lighthearted, Luca cracking jokes and Michela always smiling. We laughed a lot, became very close friends with them and would 150% do the trip again with Luca and Michela! Having them as bike and tour guides is a MUST! Grazie mille, Luca and Michela!

Doesn't matter what kind of cyclist you are , riding with these guys in their country ll be just the most amazing adventure you have ever tried so far! They know the greatest spots in Italy and on top of that you have nothing to worry about but enjoying the great views and ride your bike ! Luca and Michela were our fabulous guides during our tour of the Great Alps and we couldn't have been happier! Each day was an epic ride, punctuated by grueling climbs, amazing vistas and dizzying descents (yes, this are the epic passes made famous by the Giro d'Italia) and then rewarded by a nice hot shower in beautiful accommodations and delicious food and wine.

In addition to having incredible knowledge of the region and its cultural heritage, where they possess an incredible zest for life and adventure, we loved every aspect of our tour. Luca and Michela are the best!

I spent over 6 months searching for the perfect bike tour operator before I found Luca with Roadbike Tours Italy. From the first time contacting Luca I had a great feeling about him. He was always very quick to respond to any questions and even sent me updates and photos of what to expect during our ride. I booked a 5 day tour with 2 days in the Alps and 3 days around the lakes finishing my epic journey visiting the Madonna del Ghisallo. This trip had very special meaning to me as it was for my 50th b-day. Luca and Michela are true professionals. Luca is very passionate about his country, cycling and making sure the guest simply gets the VERY BEST EXPERIENCE out of their trip. Luca knows his country better than I know my own home town. He guided me through every twist and turn, every hill, every peak and valley to make sure i saw the most beautiful scenery that can be seen on a bicycle. Michela was our van support and was there at every rest stop to provide me with plenty of water and snacks. Even after the rides we took little side trips to see other parts of Italy. Both Luca and Michela shared stories of their home town and country and filled me with great information about the history and interesting facts about certain regions and about the country of Italy. Luca and Michela are the perfect team together. Every hotel was perfect, every meal was delicious... this trip could not of been more perfect and Luca and Michela became one of my best friends. Thanks to Luca and Michela they made this trip one of the BEST, emotional, trips I have ever experienced, and I do A LOT of travelling. There is so much more I want to see by bicycle in Italy and I will definitely be calling upon Luca and Michela of Road Bike Tours Italy again. Thanks for EVERYTHING Luca and Michela...!!!
