Now or ... never? The opportunity for a ride like this doesn’t come along very often! This is an incredibly unique fully supported tour with an expert tour operator who has run this same trip in 2009, 2012, 2019 and 2021. It's a rider favourite but it is not known when it will run again so make sure you don't miss out!
The tour is a big challenge and it’s not for everyone, but you get to see so many iconic scenes that feature in the travel shows and on the postcards. If the thought of an epic outback ride with long days in the saddle across the vast expanses of the outback, mixed with spectacular scenery gives you goosebumps it might just be for you.
You really need to be a reasonably keen cyclist –not necessarily fast, but consistent. Try to sit on an average speed of at least 20-25 km/hr on the flat and build your distance in training to 120+km for two days straight. Aim to ride close to the average daily distance of your chosen tour on each of the days if you can. This will usually put you in a good position to be ready for the tour.
