Itinerary Details

  1. Day 1Arrive Adelaide & Overnight

    Check into your lovely accommodation in central Adelaide.  Note that if you are driving, there is a Wilsons parking lot close to the hotel, but if you are renting a car for the purpose of doing the tour, it's better to arrange to collect it in the morning of day 2.

  2. Day 2Cycling the Barossa Trail

    After breakfast, around 9am, transfer to Nuriootpa in the heart of the Barossa - you will either need to have your own transport, or add the optional transfers to your booking - the journey takes about 1 hour. Upon arrival, you will be set up on your bikes, together with maps and directions, for your fun day of cycling around the beautiful Barossa. Visit the famous gourmet & wine outlets including Maggie Beers, Penfolds, Jacobs Creek, and enjoy a winery lunch at the renowned St Halletts cellar door, and visit many more.

    At the end of the day drop your bikes back and then drive 10 minutes down the road to your comfortable lodgings for the night.

  3. Day 3Cycling to Clare on the Reisling Trail

    After breakfast, transfer to Auburn in the Clare Valley (about a 1hr drive). A fantastic day awaits cycling the Riesling Rail Trail to Clare including an exclusive wine tasting at Kilikanoon Winery. Your ride includes lots of scheduled stops on the way. The majority of the riding is on the rail trail, however there are some sections on quiet country roads. Enjoy a full gourmet lunch at the highly regarded Skillogalee Winery. Your bags are transferred for you with no driving required for the next 2 days.  A restaurant dinner is included tonight.

  4. Day 4Cycling the Riesling Trail return to Auburn

    Enjoy a cooked breakfast in Clare and get ready to ride your way back to Auburn tracing a slightly different route, all off-road with lots of optional diversions including the historic Sevenhill Cellars. Make sure you view the small museum and the barrel cellar downstairs, a step back in time. Oh, and the wines are worth a little taste too, if not for a touch of holiness. Optional: For keen and fit riders, the Father Rogalski Loop (10km/6.2mi) is a worthy distraction. It is steep in parts, but the views and the wineries on the route are great rewards, especially the brilliant Pikes Wines.

    Enjoy a gourmet platter style lunch at the stunning O’Leary Walker Winery and take in the view along with some excellent wines before riding back to Auburn.

    Collect your bags(delivered back for you) & transfer/drive back to Adelaide.
