Itinerary Details

  1. Day 1Transfer to Muizenberg station and cycle through Simon’s Town

    On the morning of departure, guests can be met at the accommodation and transferred by vehicle to the historical Muizenberg Station, where you will start cycling the Cape Peninsula. You will be met there and set up with bicycles and helmets and given a full safety briefing with maps and route descriptions.

    The tour operator will transfer your luggage to your accommodation whilst you cycle along the coast taking in the spectacular scenery. If it’s the right time of year (August - November), stop to watch whales breaching in False Bay, and enjoy attractions such as the Casa Labia, Kalk Bay Harbour and other enchanting sites along the way.

    After viewing penguins in Simonstown continue on a leisurely cycle down to Cape Point National Park, to spend the night a self-catering luxury tented nature reserve camp. Guests will receive all the necessary ingredients for a self-prepared meal and a braai (BBQ) under the starlit sky

  2. Day 2Cycle 28km Cape Point return only or add 22km cycle to Kommetjie

    After a self-serve breakfast (basket of fresh fruit, eggs and breads) take a leisurely cycle to Cape Point National Park, viewing baboons, bontebok and possibly Zebra along the way. Have lunch at the Two Oceans restaurant or take a hike to Cape of Good Hope. If you want to do less mileage you could extend your stay and spend another night at the Cape Point Cottages or luxury tented campsite.

    Or continue cycling through Scarborough and Misty Cliffs along spectacular coastal scenery into Kommetjie. Guests spend the night in a personal Guest House within walking distance to one of the longest beaches in the Cape. Each splendidly appointed room faces the sea as do the luxury bathrooms with a spa bath, separate shower and two basins. Each room is equipped with independent DSTV and wireless ADSL. Meals are self-catering with ingredients provided by your guide.

  3. Day 3Cycle from Kommetjie to the City of Cape Town

    Wake up to the waves crashing on the beach and a delicious breakfast buffet. Today guests have the option to include a bicycle township tour in Masiphumelele, a nearby township (Optional extra on request). An option is to participate in the tour operator's, award-winning bicycle township tour which empowers local people and offers guests the opportunity to experience township life from a bicycle seat

    After an informative tour cycle over the infamous Chapman's Peak drive into Hout Bay which has a variety of restaurants for lunch. Guests have the option of completing the cycle tour here or possibly continuing all the way into the city where you will be met by your tour representative and your luggage.
