  • Where does the tour start and end?

The tour starts in Seville and ends in Granada. Seville Airport (SVQ) is an international airport and is the closest to Seville. There are both taxi and bus services available from the airport to the centre of Seville. For an extra fee, the tour operator can also offer a pick-up service from the airport the day before the bicycle tour starts and on Day 1 of the bike tour in the morning.

Granada Airport or Federico García Lorca Granada-Jaen Airport (GRX) does have a few international flights but these are limited so it mainly provides domestic flights. Shuttle buses and taxi service are widely available from the centre of Granada.

Malaga airport, officially Málaga–Costa del Sol Airport (AGP) will perhaps offer more international options and is approximately 150kms (93mi) from both Granada and Seville. Buses are available to travel between the cities or taxis are around 140 euros so may make sense if there are a few of you.

  • How long is the tour? How many days riding?

The tour is 10 days long with 7 days riding.

  • What's the tour like?

You should come well prepared for the trip and you should be an experienced rider. For full enjoyment of the trip, you should come prepared to complete the 80-100 km / 50-65 mile days comfortably on moderately hilly to hilly terrain. You should be able to complete several climbs on the route. While most of them are under 2.5 km (1.5 mile), there are some that are longer. You also need to know how to descend long and sometimes steep downhills and how to properly use your brakes!

The tour operator has tried to design the route along small, quiet, and picturesque roads with little car traffic and/or bike paths that enhance the sightseeing of the local areas. For the most part, road surfaces will be of good quality but there are a few short sections of patched road where you need to ride with increased care. Road bikes, as well as touring bikes and hybrids, are suitable for the tour.

  • Can I rent a bike for the tour?

Yes. The tour operator has the following fully serviced, light, quality road/fitness bikes available:

Fuji Absolute 2, 3, and 4, flat handlebars
Fuji Newest 1 and 2, drop handlebars
        Fuji Roubaix 1.3, drop handlebars

Your rental bike comes with a rear luggage rack, bungie cord, extra tube and levers, water bottle cage, pump, lock, and odometer. The price for renting a bike for this tour is $200 USD for Fuji Absolute or $270 USD for Fuji Newest and Fuji Roubaix.

  • What's the deal with food on the tour?

Breakfast every day is included on the tour. Lunches are not provided but the SAG van will supply you with water and snacks (e.g., cookies, fruit, nuts) throughout the day.

Cyclists usually do not eat big lunches, however, you are always welcome to stop in a restaurant and have a more substantial meal if you wish. In the evening, sometimes there is a group dinner included - on this tour there are 5 dinners included in the tour price.

Some evenings, you may have dinner on your own to have a rest from us :-) and try something on your own, however, the tour operator will always give you recommendations for good places to eat.

In any case, food is one of the things the tour operator is very proud of. They have invested a lot of time in locating the best possible options for you and that applies to various “national” and local dishes as well as those of an international cuisine.

  • If I'm travelling alone, will I have to pay more?

All prices are based on 2 people sharing a room so yes, there will be an additional charge levied if you are travelling solo, to compensate for the higher cost of accommodation. This will also apply if you are travelling in a group but you would like your own room throughout the tour.

  • Please read here for a message from the tour operator regarding Covid-19:

Due to the coronavirus pandemic we were forced to cancel all our tours this year. Nevertheless, we are already getting ready for the 2021 season, the 16th season of running bike tours in Europe for you, and we are pleased to report that our schedule for next year has been finalized. The bike touring industry is expecting a huge boom next year, provided we all overcome this unfortunate pandemic situation. So register early to avoid missing out. To make it easier for you, we offer full refund of all deposits paid until February 28th, 2021. We hope to see you on the road again next year.

I had such a phenomenal time, and have nothing but positive things to say about how you ran the trip, the thoroughness with which you took care of every detail, and the thoughtfulness and kindness you showed at every turn.
